ABOUT US
We are a community-driven temple founded in 2022. The Hindu Temple Dubai is a space informed by tradition, nurtured by faith and crafted for the future. It is a contemporary spiritual hub, for all faiths, that houses the many faces of divinity from communal connection to worship, knowledge and societal aid.

Origin stories
By the 1930s, Dubai bore witness to a burgeoning community of Indians who had begun to lay the groundwork for a prosperous society and
found a home in the region. The 1960s saw infrastructure aimed at their culture come to life, from education systems to religious spaces.
It’s among this legion of early entrepreneurs that Mr. Vasu Shroff began his career and ultimately cemented himself, not only as a titan of
industry but also as an immovable pillar within the community by setting in motion some of the cultural institutions we are familiar with
today like The Indian Club and more pertinently, The Hindu Temple.

First of its kind
Like many of our greatest inventions, the original Hindu Temple was born of necessity and ingenuity. When Mr. Shroff recognized the spiritual void that existed for his growing community, he did what visionaries do best, he adapted. This simple space tethered them to home and revitalized a connection to their faith. As word spread, it brought the people out in masses
and with each passing year, it grew to accommodate more events, experiences and most importantly, cherished memories.
Growing up
As time passed, the growth of Dubai over the past 60 years was, simply put, miraculous. From welcoming over 210 nationalities to becoming
a leader in trade, the UAE rapidly made its mark on the global landscape. Today, it’s ranked as the top tourist destination on TripAdvisor,
boasts of one of the highest per capita incomes and is a cultural mosaic that’s the benchmark for diversity. It’s no wonder that this oasis
ranks #3 in the world for livability and has become a beacon for progress and growth in the region.
Mirroring this expansion, the Indian community saw an astronomical increase in our population from roughly 6000 in 1958 to the 2.2 million
people that call it home today. This meteoric rise also breathed new life into every aspect of the economy, from business to tourism and
made Indians an immensely influential demographic in the region. With over 30,000 businesses ranging from small to medium and even
multinational, the community assimilated seamlessly
